We are going places on this trip. Learning things. Sky Mall for example. In mere days we could own a solar-powered plastic phalice (you try spelling that) that repels moles with safe, efficient, environmentally-friendly prudence. This flight includes Jay (intoxicated), Erika (sudden Dodger fan), and Josh (newly carefree and minty fresh). We got to the airport in San Francisco on time at 5 am, incredibly, after a combined 1 hour 37 minutes of sleep amongst the three of us. The taxi driver who took us to the airport is going to live vicariously through us for the balance of this North Carolina vacation and had a lot to say about the weed we weren’t taking with us on the plane and the fun we were going to have on the beach with booze and babes or something. After a night of heavy drinking and no sleep before the flight Jay did his best to get us thrown in federal prison for disorderly conduct in an airport. The outburst at the security checkpoint over the stolen toothpaste tube (which to his credit, was brand new and potentially very tasty) was fairly minor although definitely not G rated. It was the run in with the Red Blanket Cult at the terminal that really set him off.
